- NST Center patented holiday detection system locates flaws in coating system to support the U.S. Navy's move toward longer docking cycles
- The NST Center hosts the U.S. Navy's annual corrosion conference, Mega Rust, which has become the premier U.S. Navy-industry forum for the exchange of corrosion and preservation information
- In partnership with the Naval Sea Systems Command, the NST Center developed the Preservation Technical and QA Assessment Program, which has resulted in signifiicant preservation process improvements in Navy maintenance activities
